Mayra & Mr.Mow - We Were

Mayra & Mr.Mow - We Were The second track taken from their Nov. 2014 EP 'Les Ardoines', released on X-Ray Production, Paris ♪♫

Mayra & Mr.Mow are architects. In a pop format and rhythmic structure they build new wave of esplanades. Mayra Matte Nunes, Nicolas Mollet and Paul Aloisi are the French-Brazilian trio from Paris. Together, they open poetic windows. Their first album "Song for Orpheus" released in 2012, was as a kaleidoscope. Mayra and Mr.Mow music oscillates between hybrid psychedelic pop and folk with a hint of bossa nova and jazz. Since the arrival of Paul Aloisi on drums, their melodies sailed to new horizons.

Magic begins as one gets carried away by their journey, both simple and multiple. Simple because of their formation, multiple by the languages through which music reaches our ears: when the sweet accents from Brazil mingle with the French prose, and then get overwhelmed by the fluency of English.

When looking at their background, one better understands their eclecticism. Enrolled in the conservatoire since the age of 10, Brazilian-born Mayra was also a choir singer for the British artist General Levy. As for Nicolas Mollet a.k.a Mr.Mow, he has never forgotten his passion for Gipsy jazz, although he was originally immersed in rock culture, as recalled by his two-year experience with the band Piccadilly Circus.

Their latest EP 'Les Ardoines' is titled after Paris' express suburban rail system RER Line C station in Vitry-sur-Seine, where the rehearsal room of the band is located. Bon Voyage.
